Right away, an excellent CGI story. It is a piece of art, so please give it the due attention which your enjoyment and affectedness of it deserves.
CGI 3D Animated Short HD: “I, Pet Goat II” by – Heliofant
So, I pulled the last two episodic fiction posts back into draft.
I did so because the third episode gave rise to a story that I believe says something, and as the first two episodes were more of a meandering experiment, a sort of causal collision of billiard balls, for the sake the this story I had to pull back the beginning to cut out the extraneous, contrary, and cliched bits that would only detract from what I would like to make.
Yes, I do spend the majority of my earnest contemplation considering morality, the good of man and animal, and so writing such dark things would seem to juxtapose my intentions. But, I do not wish to be elected to any public office (ineffectual on one hand, corrupting on the other), and so sharing bizarre tales of fictitious deities causing violence and suffering shouldn’t be too (too) great an issue.
Good is without definition in the absence of evil (bad incarnate).
The two seem to be a dimensions of (available only to) sentient life.
To speak of the good in a sterile vacuum, in the absence of what makes such imperatives imperative is to speak without meaning applicable to each and all.
Also, not all my fiction will be so negative.
You will see once the story is complete.
Back to the status quo, at least until that story is ready.
Some days an inkling of existential awareness gives way to full-blown megalomania; awareness of existence feeding a belief of importance… culminating in a feeling of great responsibility, an urgency to act.
And here I am, sitting at an office desk, thinking more about bills and means than of ends and their haunting necessity.
*This message has been brought to you by my mid-week pang of cognitive dissonance (angst for adults).
When I am struck by feelings of these… part of me wants to seek out some alternative way of living that will allow me give all of my time and myself to my ongoing projects (toward their completion). Of course, this inevitably lends to plans of all or nothing. Romantic, sure, but how effective and prudent they are is to be debated.
Below is a video on the shortened work day. It argues that with more personal time people will become more involved in the common, and will have greater opportunity for personal development. This seems to be the greater choice (for the greatest number of people today) as opposed to the Walden option.
