A word on the good; a rare glimpse of what I seldom share [universal morality]

Hello friend,

I normally do not so easily let spill from my cup, the words of my heart.
I am below to do so.
Enjoy (or read with dismay if you are so inclined).

That we cannot simply apprehend a truth which is as immediate and essential as the revelation of our own existence, frustrates me so; for, it is this that I believe to be the greatest source of suffering in all the cosmos.

Beyond our logic of isolation there lay a horizon as yet undiscovered by we, who, beyond mere existence and subsequent experience, measure, name, address and contrive the world around, within, and of ourselves. And it is in this as yet unseen direction that there lay metaphysical imperatives, as clear as the sun in the sky, that demand honest acknowledgement and adherence universellement.

Alas, as individuals who see themselves as disconnected from that which is, or as members of dogmatic tribes, we kill one another, we think of our particular lives as to be all that we are, we consume, we pollute, we accept these as norms; this gift of life, we waste it so.

Though my words here are vague, you know that these wars of geographically/temporally-particular nations and ideologies are wrong, and that no one should hurt, cheat, nor in any way use another as a means toward an end, rather than as an end in itself, as every living being deserves.

Sawing horns from the faces of rhinos because they cannot speak to reason as you would so plead were someone to begin hacking flesh from your body… bombing another land because of the false distinction that their people are different in a way that would make this justifiable, believing that a god would favour some, and forever damn others.

That in light of the universal communion which existence could share with existence, we divide, and we destroy, and we seem to wait for something.

The sand runs down, time runs on, and the rolling wave of the present moves toward a crescendo… either to be a meaningless crash, an unheard thunderclap followed by a silence unfelt, or, as it still can be, as man overcoming himself, and becoming that which is required if we are to graduate from animaux intelligents to hommes comme des dieux.

Though I do not today bring you facts so that you may see exactly why it is that we must be good to one another, everyone, I ask that you feel the intuition deep within you (it is present in all of us) and to give that which sits at the core of yourself the benefit of the doubt, to know this truth as you know yourself: that to do onto all others as you would wish them to do onto you is truth beyond truth, truth highest from which is illuminated a better world for us all, and a better life for each, for as long as we can know this to be so.

You are a noble animal, an animal all the same. You are the cosmos taken form, the cosmos indelibly.

Learn and become; love, and with joy in your heart, live beyond the life particular to the confines of your temporary embodiment.

About Ossington

I often think but seldom share these thoughts. And if the product of my thinking is to affect anything but my own sense of satisfaction, then surely it must be shared. Here you may try to know what I believe to know.
