I just came across this EXCELLENT collection of existentialist literature.
Existentialism, as per its strict definition, isn’t quite so easy to pin down. The abridged definition, however, I believe I can here cover.
Existentialism concerns itself with existence. It concerns itself with the discomfort of being in the world with only your own constitution and interests and actions to cope.
The tenet central to existentialism would be that of the freedom to control your own life. To act as you wish, it to become as you act. In short, you are your actions.
Of the following list, I have read The Stranger, The Plague, and Nausea, the last of which just rocked my world.
God is dead, as they say, and it’s just you and your choices.
Pickup one of some of these, and I am certain your life will be more interesting, if not better, because of it.
