if we truly buy into the fairness doctrine then how exactly do we not have a responsibility to redistribute wealth outside of the US. Wouldn’t that be more fair? What is it about US citizenship that somehow qualifies you for wealth redistribution as opposed in Non-US citizens

I did not mean to say that inequality in the U.S. is bad, and that inequality elsewhere beyond the U.S. is simply the status quo and that’s fine.
Rather, I view the U.S. as a part of the larger global system. Dysfunction in one shows dysfunction in the whole. Yes, there exists greater disparity and inequality in other parts of the world, but if the U.S. collapses in on itself there will be terrible consequences for progress worldwide (at least in the short term).
